This time last year things were so uncertain. The only thing we were certain of was that little Miss Rosa Maria was going to be born very soon! I never imagined giving birth during a global pandemic but UNC Hospital and Joel helped make it a comfortable and smooth experience for me. This past year had gone by so slow but so quickly at the same time, and our Rosa Mia just turned one year old!
I love planning and decorating for the kids’ birthday parties, especially their first birthday. I always pick a theme and go all the way with it! For Rosa, I wanted to do a fun magical woodland fairy-themed party. All of these decorations for pretty inexpensive from Amazon, Target, or Dollar Tree.
I found the cutest fairy party bundle of plates, napkins, and cups. It came with little paper butterflies to put on the lip on the cups which is such an adorable detail and doubles as a drink marker! The flower garlands draped around our rattan cocoon chair and table came is a pack of 5. My mom added fairy lights to the rattan chair and it turned out adorable!
No birthday party is complete without balloons so I got this Fairy Party balloon banner.
Now on to the food! We ordered pizza from Marcos Pizza for dinner but made sure to have some snacks and desserts out. I bought the cutest floral cake and cupcakes from Wegmans and added flower fairy cupcake topper picks. Our round bark cheese board is from Wegmans but I found a similar one on Amazon!
I made the flower chandelier with Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby items. There’s a video on my TikTok of it!
For fairy themed party favors I got flower crowns for the kids to wear and take home. Catalina has been playing dress-up with the leftover fairy crowns! I wanted an easy fairy themed activity for the kids as well and found these cute little wooden fairy doors for them to color and decorate.
What a magical woodland fairy party! The Woodland Fairy Cake is an absolute masterpiece, perfectly capturing the enchanting theme. It’s a celebration that will surely be cherished forever!
