I subscribed to BoxyCharm a couple of months ago and wanted to review them on my blog and Youtube channel! November’s box is up and I just uploaded January 2020’s unboxing and review. I’ve tested out all of the products (except one that may not be safe during pregnancy) and let ya know what I thought! In case you can’t watch the video, I wrote a short version of my review below.
The Truffle Therapy Gommage was the first product I saw in January’s BoxyCharm. I still have no idea what Gommage means but I do like this product. It is a gentle exfoliating cream wash. I’ve been using it a lot and while the granules in it for exfoliation don’t exactly feel gentle, the creamy formula leaves my skin feeling very moisturized and soft. Some exfoliants leave your skin feeling stripped and dry but this feels very hydrating after I rinse it off. It also has a sweet almond-y scent!
Avant 8 Hour Radiance Renewal Sleeping Mask (smaller bottle but way cheaper)
This boujie moisturizer is so hydrating and smells so pretty. I’ve been using this a lot too, especially around my eyes. After using the Avant sleeping mask with the Truffle Therapy for about a week, Joel asked me one night if I had makeup on (I didn’t) and he said my skin looked really glowy. Maybe these products had something to do with it!
This is the one product I did not try since pregnant and breastfeeding women are usually advised to avoid retinol in skincare. I plan on asking my midwife about it at my next appointment and see what she says!
The packaging for this highlighter is adorable! The color was a bit too dark for me so it didn’t work as a highlighter but I love shimmery blush so I have been using it as a blush topper for a subtle glow over my blush.
Castor oil is amazing for your lashes! I definitely saw some noticeable thickening action but it didn’t help with length. It’s an okay mascara but I don’t see myself replacing my Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express!
